LUST

bonne soirée mes amis et collègues artistes

My challenges for my next several turns will be the 7 deadly sins starting with LUST this week

My finished piece is displayed here (and on my BLOG) as is the lustful fellow I used to create it.

Be brave, go beyond your usual limits and explore a darker side of your nature and art.

Have Fun

Bon Chance, Onnea, Gluck and Good Luck

Beach Babes

We had the beach theme last year, but since it's summer and the best beach season coming up, so I though, let's do this again. You can use the images above or any other images you like. Let your imagination flow.

Post your art work on your  blog or other site, and leave a link to your work in our "comments" section. Instructions on how to leave a link to your work are located in the right sidebar. Just click on the words, "How to add your link in comment".

I'm really looking forward to see your entries. Thank you for participating!

(The first image is in both .jpg and .png format (choose the .jpg, if you're going to print it, and the .png, if you work digitally. The other two images are my photographs from Venice Beach, Los Angeles).

Boats and ships

There are so many ways to travel on water - row boats, canoes, motor boats, sail yachts, passenger ships, even gondolas. This week I challenge you to make a piece of art using an image (or idea) of a boat or a ship. You can use one of these images shown here, or any other image you like. You can make digital art or manual collage or a three dimensional piece - anything goes. My own version of the theme is on my blog.

Please post an image of your art piece on your blog or other site, and leave a link to your work in our "comments" section. Instructions on how to leave a link to your work are located in the right sidebar. Just click on the words, "How to add your link in comment".

I'm really looking forward to see your entries. It's always fantastic to see how talented you are and how you can interprete the themes in so many original ways. Thank you for participating!

(The first image is from an old Finnish postcard, the second one is an old chocolate box cover, and the ocean liner is googled.)

TIME

Depending upon what's going on in your life, time can seem like an enemy you're fighting or a friend that you're comfortable with. This week, please reflect on the concept of time, and create something to share with us. Your art can be silly, serious or anything inbetween. Friends, there is no wrong way to approach this challenge!

Instead of an image, you may wish to draw inspiration from this quote from The Bible (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8):

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

Please post your art on your blog or other site, and leave a link to your work in our "comments" section. Instructions on how to leave a link to your work are located in the right sidebar. Just click on the words, "How to add your link in comment".

I can't wait to see what you create!
