Mushrooms

Mushrooms are fascinating! They suddenly pop up from the ground after rain, they grow big overnight, the variety of their looks challenges every imagination. They can nourish you - but they are also able to kill you if you don't be careful.
The mushroom season is starting here in Finland, and that means I'm going to spend a lot of time in the forest looking for mushrooms. I pick mushrooms to cook and eat, but I also pick mushrooms with which I can dye yarns for my knitting and weaving projects.
So I thought that this week I'll challenge you to make art with mushrooms as the theme. I give you three images below, but you can use any other images as well - or you can create your own mushrooms, invent new species. The first image is a table of edible mushrooms from a Finnish "Home Encyclopedia" (published by Otava in 1935), the second image is from a Finnish "Housewife's encyclopedia" (published by Werner Söderström in 1950), and the last one is from a Swedish deck of mushroom palying cards (published by Hjelm Förlag).
So go ahead, have fun, and surprise me with your fantastic mushroom art! You can make any kind of art - digital or manual, with any technique and from any materials. Post an image of your piece of art on your blog or other website, and then use the Link feature below to link your site to CO blog.
