Owls

I find owl images fascinating, and somehow they seem appropriate to the approaching autumn season here in the U.S. To me, owls can be beautiful, menacing, and eerie- all at the same time. Wikipedia says that owls are found in all regions of the Earth except Antarctica, most of Greenland, and some remote islands. Though owls are typically solitary, the literary collective noun for a group of owls is a "parliament." Owls have small beaks, wide faces, and excellent eyesight. Although some cultures consider owls a bad omen, the modern West generally associates them with wisdom. This association goes back at least as far as Ancient Greece.

Your challenge this week is to use an image of an owl(s) in your collage. You may use one of the images below (from Wikimedia Commons), find one of your own, or create an owl out of your own imagination. Please add your link using our link feature below, or leave a comment on this posting. We're looking forward to seeing your creations!

Your owls are beautiful Kaylene - especially the second one- a work of art in itself.
My owl is the boobook owl, I think native to Australia.
