REFLECTION

"Reflection" can mean:
- redirection of something that strikes a surface; examples are light, sound, and heat.
- mirror image or likeness.
- contemplation, musing, or thought.

This week's challenge is to create a collage interpreting the concept of "reflection," using any of its meanings.  Below are some images for inspiration. You may also use any of these images in your collage.

After you've posted your collage to your blog, please add a link to your posting here, using the link feature at the bottom of this posting.  (NOTE: If no link appears, we will fix it as soon as we can. Leave your comment in the comments section instead.) My "Reflection" digital collage can be found on my blog, http://www.alittlecoloreveryday.blogspot.com .

Decorative Text

This week, the challenge is to use the letter "F" in a decorative way that we know as illuminated text. Of course the letter could showcase the make believe world of fairies, or it could be purely about flowers. What I had in mind was the beautiful lettering in medieval texts. This is your chance to showcase your beautiful fonts or stamps.

The following are examples of illuminated text and decorative text and other examples can be found at Karens Whimsy .

What to Submit: All styles of art work are acceptable - ATC cards, collage sheets, postcards, scrapbooking and digital art.

How to Submit your work: You can leave a link to your work in the comments section, or use the link tool below.

Have fun creating your decorative text.

Cheers.

Cabinet Card

Let's play with Cabinet cards. You can either create your own Cabinet card, the subject is free, or you these images on your collage:

The Cabinet card was the style of photograph which was universally adopted for photographic portraiture in 1870. It consisted of a thin photograph that was generally mounted on cards measuring 4¼ by 6½ inches.
You can read more about Cabinet cards here.

Sun

I am so happy today: the sun is shining! We had a lot of new snow only last week, and it felt like the spring is never coming. But now the wonderful sun is warming the air and melting the snow away.
This is why I'm challenging you to make a piece of art with the sun in it - in one form or another. The sun can be warm and beautiful and lovely, but it can also be cruel and frightening - it can burn your skin and dry the land. The sun has a lot of power - it is the thing that makes life on Earth possible. For this reason it has also been worshiped as a god in many religions.
The inspiration images below are: an Egyptian carving showing pharaoh Akhenaten with the divine sun disc Aten, a tarot card "Sun", and a half orange which I have used in my own collage "Aurinko" ("sun" in Finnish). You can use these images in your piece, or you can use any other images you like.
You can make your piece just the way you want: digital or manual, 2D or 3D, any technique and material is welcome. All you have to do, after creating your piece, is to post your art on your blog or other site. Next, leave a link to your work using our link feature below, or by adding a comment with a link to your site in our "comments" section.
Have fun!
